Olaplex.

My name is Louise Heaton, this is my blog on olaplex and why I use it in my salon.

What is Olaplex?

Olaplex is free of silicone, sulfates, phthalates, DEA, aldehydes, gluten and is never tested on animals. Olaplex reconnects broken disulfide sulfur bonds in the hair. Hair bonds are broken during thermal, mechanical and chemical services, which mean it is a new salon wonder-treatment that actually fixes damaged hair! It is a series of three products that work to repair and prevent damage to the hair that occurs during the colouring process.

To deposit colour or lighten hair the chemicals used breaks the bonds that hold your natural colour. The lighter you go the more destructive the process can be. Using Olaplex actually links these bonds back together, rebuilding the hair and making it stronger and healthier no matter how light you go or how often you colour. Basically stylists are relieved of worrying about the condition of hair while processing and not been able to achieve the results they want whilst colouring.

Why do I use Olaplex in salon?

When I first heard about this amazing treatment I thought I must have it in my salon. A lot of my clients do love a colour change and without it some of these changes would not be possible. Going from dark, warm colours to blondes usually takes time and patience. I would usually advise my clients to build up on highlights which can take a few months. With Olaplex these results are usually achieved a lot quicker.

Since I have started using Olaplex I have come to realise it is so much more than just an ‘add to colour’ service. Olaplex is an amazing cutting tool the hair feels so healthy and sleek, it really makes a difference. The Standalone treatment (Olaplex Blow-drys) is also an amazing conditioning treatment for the hair which I offer to my client’s in-between colours to keep the hair and colour feeling like new. Olaplex Blow-drys are a must have in salon! At the moment some of my clients have damaged hair due to heat styling or perming etc, not always by excessive bleaching. So our wonder 15 min treatment and blow-dry is a big hit as I find there is no better conditioning treatment than Olaplex.

Lastly there is no3 the Olaplex take home treatment, the home hair perfector you can use once a week to continuously strengthen hair and extend the freshness of your colour. Remember hair is not only damaged by chemical services, but such as hairdryers, flat irons, tongs, so this at home product is overall a must have treatment.
